Home Brew Starter Kits

A starter kit gets you a fermenter, a way to measure what is happening inside it, something to sanitise it with, and enough malt for a 23 litre batch. The difference between them is how much of the second batch you already own.

Home Brew Starter Kits

What we stock

Which starter kit suits you

Every kit here makes the same twenty-three litre batch. What differs is how much of your second brew you already own when the first one finishes.

The basic kit gets you fermenting immediately and is the right choice if you want to find out whether you enjoy the process before committing further. The deluxe kits add bottling and measuring gear you would otherwise buy separately within a month.

Whichever you pick, budget separately for temperature control. A tub of water and a frozen bottle costs nothing and will improve your beer more than any equipment upgrade in this range.

One thing worth buying immediately that no kit includes: a second fermenter. Being able to start the next batch before the last one is packaged is what turns brewing from an occasional project into a steady supply, and fermenters are the cheapest piece of equipment you will buy. A spare hydrometer is the other sensible early purchase, since they are glass and they get dropped.
